A day out on the Long Beach Peninsula means plenty of noshing and browsing – and a dip in the ocean is always an option. Pacific County is a book lover’s paradise and home to a couple of the greenest places to buy greens, as well as renowned breakfasts, inns and beautiful sunrises over the Willapa Bay. An influx of urbanites support abundant fine dining, and there are plenty of places in towns like Nahcotta, Ocean Park, Seaview and Oysterville to relax away from the strip.

At the south tip of the Peninsula sits Ilwaco, with its quaint Harbour Village. A swell of high-end eateries line the Port of Ilwaco and efforts are ramping up to create a bike- and pedestrian friendly hotspot of art and sustainable tourism. With several thriving galleries and new leadership at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum, this emerging waterfront community is attracting more residents and visitors to the once sleepy blue-collar fishing village.

The Peninsula is capped by the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge in the north and Cape Disappointment State Park and is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, Willapa Bay and the mighty Columbia River.
