Friends of Trees Westside planting

Fun in the rain on Saturday: I planted ten trees with Friends of Trees, for a total of 40 in the Lincoln neighborhood and 140 in seven neighborhoods total. Champion neighborhood liaison Cynthia Thornton-Tang wrote a grant which enabled Lincoln residents to get one or two trees at a deep discount and then in teams, we planted them.
It’s so fun to see all the Friends of Trees stickers swinging from newly planted trees throughout the Westside. If you ever get a chance to do this, do not pass it up!

    Thank you so much for the kind words. We couldn’t plant as many trees as we do without the help of generous volunteers, such as yourself. During our 2008-2009 planting season over 3,000 volunteers helped us plant nearly 20,000 trees!
